Chim bồ câu chịn mua con mới ra giàng, thịt chim sẽ mềm, thơm ngon. Sơ chế sạch sẽ chim bồ câu rồi chặt thành từng miếng để dễ xay hoặc băm nhỏ. Phi thơm hành cùng chút dầu ăn, cho thịt chim đã băm nhuyễn vào xào chín đều. Để nồi xôi trên bếp, cho số thịt chim đã xào vào nồi xôi rồi xới đều lên. Đun thêm 3 đến 5 phút nữa cho thịt chim và xôi quyện đều vào nhau.
Cho xôi chim bồ câu ra bát, rắc hành phi vàng giòn lên trên rồi mời mọi người thưởng thức. Từng miếng xôi đậm đà, vị ngọt của thịt chim, thơm ngậy của hành phi sẽ khiến ai cũng thích.
