Cua giàu đạm giúp con tăng cân, mau lớn, lại nhiều canxi chống còi xương và đặc biệt là bổ sung một lượng lớn chất kẽm, kích thích bé thèm ăn. Món cháo cua đồng thơm lừng, ngon ngọt, béo ngậy, bé nào cũng thích.
Gạo tẻ vo sạch, ngâm trong nước khoảng 45-60 phút. Gạo sau khi ngâm vớt ra để ráo cho vào nồi áp suất ninh nhỏ lửa cho gạo nở chín mềm.
Cua đồng rửa sạch, tách mai, bỏ yếm. Khều gạch cua để riêng.
Cua cho vào cối giã nát, khi giã hoặc xay nhuyễn thêm 1/2 muỗng cà phê muối, lọc lấy nước, bỏ bã.
Hành lá, rau răm rửa sạch rồi cắt nhỏ. Để lại vài lá rau răm để trang trí.
Bắc nồi nước lọc cua lên bếp, khuấy đều tới khi thấy thịt cua bắt đầu kết tủa thì có thể ngừng, chờ cho nồi nước sôi bùng, thịt cua đóng thành tảng thì hạ lửa nhỏ, vớt gạch cua ra chén để riêng.
Thêm 3-4 muỗng cháo trắng vào nồi nước cua, đun nhỏ lửa cho hạt cháo mềm và nhuyễn. Đun nhỏ liu riu để cháo không bị rào ra ngoài.
Phi thơm hành tím với 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn, cho gạch cua vào xào thơm rồi cho thịt cua vào xào cùng, nêm 1 muỗng canh nước mắm. Đổ thịt cua ra một chén riêng. Khi thấy nồi cháo chín, nêm 1 muỗng cà phê bột ngọt vừa miệng rồi cho thịt cua vào, thêm ít hành răm cắt nhỏ.
Múc cháo ra tô thêm ít hành tím phi thơm là có thể dùng được. Cháo cua đồng thích hợp với bé lười ăn.
